Bringing New Life to Kingman’s Route 66 Signage
At Precise Sign Co, we love when past projects come full circle. A few years ago, we had the opportunity to design and install digital displays for the City of Kingman, AZ, a community proudly located along historic Route 66. The illuminated logo displays, crafted with faux neon, gave Kingman’s brand a fresh, modern look while still honoring the classic neon glow that travelers associate with America’s “Mother Road.”
Recently, Kingman returned to us with a new request: upgrading their iconic Route 66 archway sign. The goal was to match the same faux neon style we used for their logo displays and ensure a unified look that captures the spirit of both the city and its place on the famous highway.
Why Faux Neon?
Traditional neon will always have a nostalgic charm, especially in towns along Route 66, but it can also be fragile and costly to maintain. That is where faux neon shines. This modern alternative delivers the same eye-catching glow while offering key advantages:
- Durability – Less fragile than glass neon tubes
- Cost-Effective – Lower upfront and long-term maintenance costs
- Energy Efficient – Uses significantly less power than traditional neon
- Consistent Look – Perfect for creating a cohesive branding experience
The Upgrade
Our team carefully reimagined Kingman’s Route 66 archway sign with faux neon, blending it seamlessly with the digital logo displays. Together, these elements now create a bold, welcoming presence for visitors and locals alike, serving as a beacon along the historic highway both day and night.
A Modern Take on a Classic Route 66 Look
Faux neon is quickly becoming the go-to choice for cities and businesses along Route 66 that want to keep the nostalgic glow alive without the challenges of traditional upkeep. For Kingman, AZ, this upgrade was the perfect way to preserve the charm of their signage while making a smart investment in the future.
Thinking about upgrading your signage? Whether you’re looking for a bold digital display, a faux neon design, or a full rebrand, Precise Sign Co has the expertise to bring your vision to life and help your business shine as brightly as the icons of Route 66..
